Dear Parents of Robinson and Sevier 8th Graders,

 

In partnership with the Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition, Kingsport City Schools has been asked to take part in the “TN Together 2018-19 Student Survey.” This survey is being administered to a random sample of 8th, 10th, and 12th graders across Tennessee. In Kingsport, John Sevier and Ross N. Robinson 8th graders and Dobyns-Bennett* 10th and 12th graders have been selected to participate. This confidential survey will take place online at school beginning on December 14th. The information gained will be compiled by the Sullivan County Anti-Drug Coalition and be used to assist in the development of programs that further their mission of working to prevent substance abuse by assessing the problem, building capacity and advocating for needed change (Click here to learn more about the SCADC). The survey does not identify individual students and will help measure progress and areas of need related to the prevention of substance abuse.

 

This survey provides an opportunity for the Sullivan County Anti-Drug coalition to obtain confidential county-wide information related to student behaviors. Per KCS Board Policy 6.4001, parents shall be notified prior to any survey administration and given the opportunity to review the survey materials and opt their child out of participation.
