Kingsport City Schools Inclusive Athletic Program Names Head Sparkle Squad Coach

KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Kingsport City Schools Inclusive Athletic Program has announced the appointment of Sarah Good as head coach for the Sparkle Squad, effective immediately. Good is also the current Unified Track and Field coach, furthering her commitment to student empowerment and inclusive opportunities.

“We are thrilled to welcome Sarah Good as the new head coach of the Sparkle Squad," said KCS Inclusive Athletic Program Director Nick Lingerfelt. "Sarah brings not only a wealth of experience and leadership but also an unwavering passion for inclusive education and athletics. Her dedication to students with disabilities and her hands-on involvement with the Sparkle Squad have left a lasting imprint on the program and the broader Kingsport community. Whether coaching, mentoring, or volunteering at events, she is known for her tireless efforts to uplift and support others."
 
Founded in 2013, the mission of the Sparkle Squad is to provide opportunities for students to express themselves and create relationships through collaborative cheer performances with their typically developing peers. Sparkle Squad gives middle and high school students a sense of belonging through participation in extracurricular activities, community outreach events, and performances at sporting events during the football and basketball seasons.
