School Spelling Bee - Sign Up Before Friday

Any interested student at Ross N. Robinson Middle School in grades 6-8 may participate in the school’s Written Qualifying Spelling Test by having a parent digitally sign and submit this Google Form by Friday December, 4th.

A copy of the study guide is attached.  This study guide will help prepare students for the written qualifying test. The first section of words on the written qualifying test will be pulled from this list; the latter section is pulled from the official bee dictionary, Webster’s Third New International Dictionary.

Qualifiers  from the Written Bee will be invited to participate in their school’s Oral Spelling Bee held in January, 2021. Students will be notified of qualification by letter.

It is important to note that the Written Qualifying Round and/or Oral Spelling Bee may be canceled due to COVID-19 Closures. Students in quarantine or in isolation due to a positive case are not eligible for either event. There will not be a virtual participation option. Students must be in person at their school to participate in both events with strict social distancing, and DOH precautions will be strictly enforced.

The Spelling Bee provides students with a wonderful opportunity for academic challenge, enrichment, and competition. We look forward to this year’s competition with gratitude for our resilient RNR community, who continue to make excellence happen despite the unprecedented challenges of this year.
