KINGSPORT, Tenn. – Kingsport City Schools has announced that Beth Cohen has been named interim principal of Ross N. Robinson Middle School, effective immediately.  Cohen replaces Dr. Brian Partin, who has recently accepted the position of Director of University School in Johnson City (TN).

Cohen has served as assistant principal at Dobyns-Bennett High School since 2011. Prior to that, she was a social studies teacher at D-B, teaching world history, government, and economics.  She will serve in the role of interim principal at Robinson through the remainder of the 2019-20 school year.

“We are excited that Mrs. Cohen will bring her experience, enthusiasm, and passion for excellence to Robinson in her role as interim principal,” said KCS Superintendent Dr. Jeff Moorhouse.  “Her variety of leadership experiences have prepared her well for this role. I’m looking forward to seeing how the RNR community will continue to thrive during this time of transition.”

Cohen holds a Bachelor’s Degree in History from East Tennessee University, a Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction from King University, and an Educational Specialist Degree in Educational Administration and Supervision from Lincoln Memorial University.  She was also named a 2018 Tennessee Governor’s Academy for School Leaders (GASL) fellow.

I am ready to see each and every one of our fantastic students thrive this school year as we cultivate community together.”
